New York police are looking for Elias

New York police are looking for Elias Hossain, an expatriate journalist, on charges of contempt of court, including threatening to throw a bomb at the plaintiff's house.

A hulia (appearance notice for absconding accused) has already been issued against him. New York's Queens County Police Department posted 'surrender' posters on the door of Elias' home and in various locations throughout the city in an effort to extradite him.

Allegation against Elias, Elias called Milton Jacob at noon on January 20 and threatened to bring a bomb to his house. Elias released a video on social media about Jacob Milton and Prima Rabbani, which was widely discussed. However, Milton and Prima Rabbani filed a civil and criminal case against Ilyas Hossain, claiming that the video was defamatory and baseless. In view of this, the US court issued an arrest warrant against Elias.

It is known that the last day of Elias' bail application after surrendering to the court in this case was February 1. On this day, he surrendered to the police in New York and asked for bail. As the case registered against him was bailable, he was released six hours later that day (February 1) at noon. Ilyas was scheduled to appear in court on February 17 but did not appear. As a result, he was charged with contempt of court. After that, the New York police issued a warrant in his name.
