Imran Khan's appeal against 3 sentence verdict

Pakistan's former prime minister and Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party chairman Imran Khan has appealed against three recent convictions.

His lawyer Latif Khosa informed this information on Friday (February 17). Imran Khan has been sentenced to a total of 31 years in prison for corruption, leaking state secret documents and breaking the marriage law. However, Imran's supporters claim that these purposeful cases have been filed against him to disqualify him from the election.

Imran's party PTI won the most seats in the February 8 elections, but no party got a single-digit majority to form the government. A court in Rawal Pindi sentenced Imran Khan to 10 years in prison on charges of leaking state secret documents on January 30, 14 years in a corruption case and 7 years in the latest case of breaking the marriage law.
